Reverence

Reverence

There is a space between here and there that seems an eternity away. But, is it? Is it that far to travel, or the mere utterance of words unspoken? Paths to be explored? Ways of being yet to be walked into fully? Taken. Grasped and pulled in tightly to the chest of ages. Is it so far to go when a simple tendon in an ankle twitches? Urging? Guiding? Is the body not our wisdom? Personified, collective and wise beyond our humanness? Those who walked into magnificence guided by their ancestry wrapped around sinew, tumbling through generations, around and around we go, circling hearts. Carefully, with fingertips, lifting the corners of history to reveal the shadows created from the way light falls and the darkness of ages. Never to dance in quite the same way again. Opportunity knocks on oak doorways as if from below my feet through the portals of time.
