Take your Ministry Leadership Role to the next level through Ministry Coaching.
Ministry Coaching can help Church Leaders understand how to best support themselves in order to thrive more fully in the various aspects of their lives. Our post-pandemic world asks that we adjust and often utilize new tools in order to thrive and also avoid and minimize issues such as stress, anxiety, depression and burnout. Gaining a deeper understanding of your goals, strengths and purpose can help ensure your work and home life is rich and full.
Ministry Coaching focuses on identifying and reaching for goals in ministry while creating strong personal foundations that sustain and bring a greater ability to be resilient in a profession (or in a lay capacity) that is demanding and can often be exhausting – especially it seems in post-pandemic times as needs shift and change.
I felt inspired to shift my executive and personal coaching practice more fully into one of working with Spiritual Seekers, Ministers, Pastors, and Lay Leaders as my own relationship with God deepened over a decade ago. As it did, I found that more people from ministry – retired and currently working or lay – reached out to work with me either to develop their own leadership skills within their roles, or to help identify gaps in ministry settings, find ways to make helpful shifts in culture and environment, and help implement programs and helpful practices.
I believe my own ever-deepening lifetime experience as a spiritual seeker has led to a natural desire to hold space for others as they explore their spiritual lives and enrichen them. My intention is to offer methods of guidance anchored in heartful and careful listening, questioning and reflection.
The way I approach Ministry Coaching with Spiritual Seekers, Ministers Pastors and Lay Leaders springs forth from the natural weaving of the various experiences in my life (30 years of working with individuals in business and community, and almost 20 year of professional coach experience) and my passion for exploring, deepening and expanding upon my own spiritual life experience through my various pursuits including mid-sized business analysis and leadership development, photography, broadcasting, sport, personal and executive coaching and spiritual companionship.
Ministry Coaching is one of engagement with the practice. A commitment to agreed upon a application of principles and an interest in exploring in active ways over time is an important aspect of the work.
A Ministry Coaching relationship is most often carried out by meeting three times a month for 60 mins (over Zoom, phone or in-person) with a commitment to homework. Cost is $125 Canadian per session, with some scholarship rates available. Sign up for a free 30 minute session to explore the idea of working together.
I see a limited number of individuals for Ministry Coaching. If you are interested, please visit Prospective Client Information page before you book your first session.

“Working with Jan has helped me grow more fully into my strengths as a ministry leader. This has given me more confidence in carrying out my day-to-day duties within the church and in implementing new ventures.
Perhaps one of the greatest benefits in my personal life has been feedback from my adult children who have reflected back to me what they call ‘the new version of Mom’. They say I am more present with them and my grandchildren and better able to listen. Could there be any greater gift? Thank you, Jan.”
